Mason Bates: Art of War | A Kennedy Center Digital Stage Original

"Art of War" is a powerful new symphony that explores the drama of human conflict from the perspectives of soldiers, weaponry, and human loss. Animating a three-movement symphonic structure are original field recordings of weapons tests; elements of American and Iraqi folk music; and the printing presses of the US Treasury. This new work by Kennedy Center Composer-in-Residence Mason Bates was performed by the National Symphony Orchestra and conducted by NSO Music Director Gianandrea Noseda. It premiered December, 2018, in the Kennedy Center's Concert Hall. Subscribe to The Kennedy Center!
